BIO
The Youngers – Official Bio (2025)
Hailing from Pennsylvania, The Youngers are an indie rock band rooted in classic American songwriting, blending harmony vocals, guitar-driven arrangements, and timeless storytelling with a modern alternative edge. Since forming in 1999, the band has built a sound that moves easily between indie rock, AAA, and Americana audiences.
Their 2022 album Nashville Again marked a major milestone, climbing to #2 on the Roots Rock Chart and spending four months on the Americana Chart, earning the band a coveted appearance at MerleFest 2023.
In 2024, The Youngers entered Wilco’s legendary Loft studio in Chicago to record their fifth full-length album, Dreaming (2025), produced and engineered by Tom Schick (Wilco, Mavis Staples). The album expands the band’s palette with cinematic textures, lush harmonies, and a clear indie rock focus while honoring their American songwriting roots.
The Youngers have performed at MerleFest, DelFest, Musikfest, and Levon Helm’s Midnight Ramble, sharing stages with Levon Helm, Marty Stuart, Billy Bob Thornton & The Boxmasters, and others. Their live shows are dynamic and harmony-rich, featuring lap steel, mandolin, upright bass, baritone, twelve-string, and six-string guitars.
As Calvin Powers of Americana Music Show notes, “The Youngers infuse every note with foot-tapping, highway-ready vibes and a touch of in-your-face attitude.”
Their music has been featured on NPR, SiriusXM, WMOT (Nashville), WNCW (Asheville), and Cowboy Jack Clement’s Radio Show, with coverage from Relix Magazine, Vintage Guitar Magazine, and The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Whether on record or on stage, The Youngers deliver indie rock with American roots — music built to move both heart and highway.
